Local krimis are increasingly finding an international market as Roger Smith gets picked up by Serpent’s Tail in the UK, appears in a Picador trade paperback in the US and sells rights in Japan. Also out there is Margie Orford with a two-book deal with her German publishers, and the duo called Michael Stanley signed with a German publisher a few months ago.
Talking about Michael Stanley their novel A Deadly Trade is up for two awards at this year’s Bouchercon festival.
Jenny Crwys-Williams hosts her annual Fright Night in Johannesburg on Tuesday 20th with stars, Peter Robinson, Margie Orford and Jassy Mackenzie. You might have to kill to get in if you don’t quickly contact Carol on 0114774404 or 0763938083.
